Yeah, so I haven’t been updating the blog lately. It’s summer. It’s hot. I’m busy. Of course, again, not having summertime, vacation fun times, but rather working.
Phoebe is away at the moment, painting this awesome wall decoration for a nephew, but she’ll be back tomorrow, in time for my birthday, which I’ll be celebrating for once.
Anyway, despite failing to find time to do some blog posts, I was actually drafting this really nice one, all positive and whatnot, when WHAT DO YOU KNOW?? One of my favorite singers apparently passes away, and at such a young age.
Chester Bennington. That’s right. At only 41, the Linkin Park singer apparently took his own life? And on his good buddy the late Chris Cornell’s birthday no less.
I don’t know, but this might be the known death that hurts me the most. For a long time in my earlier years, Linkin Park was my main deal, maybe to the left of Ben Folds. I think Michael Clarke Duncan was the worst up til now. There’s been others too, like Bowie or Robin Williams, but with Duncan I had to cross out something from my bucket list. (#17 – Get a giant ass bear hug from Michael Clarke Duncan)
So then, now begins another round of binging the entirety of LP’s discography. LP is actually one of the few bands of which I actually have CDs. Who uses CDs anymore, you know? Well, I know, I know, presumably people who drive. Those people don’t include me tho. Yet. Actually, I almost have all their albums, save for their two new ones. Guess this is the end of LP. I mean, Mike Shinoda is a great singer, not to mention writer, but what made LP was the chemistry of these two men and their singing.
Weirdly enough I actually rewatched The Raid last night, which has music by Shinoda.
Yeah, just felt I wanted to write it down. Someday in the future I can read back on this and see how down it brought me. You were very sad today, future Christian. Pretty much chrushed.
Probably end it right here, with my fave Linkin Park song:
RIP Mr Bennington, I’ll miss the hell outta you <3
